Amidst the void of fleeting second’s dance
A phantasm of obfuscating trance
Behold the Sire Mistral, veiled in mist
Whose riddles whisper ceaseless in the twist

Mr. Echoes, spectral, sly
In murmurs weaves reality awry
With masks of shadow, shrouded in deceit
He beckons forth illusions bittersweet

Atop the peak where Time’s illusions wane
Resides Mr. Chronos, ever vain
His gaze a labyrinth of shifting sands
Where moments slip through supple, spectral hands

Mr. Eon, ancient ever still
A cipher wrapped in enigmatic thrill
His whispers echo through the voids of space
Epochs are born and die in languid grace

Mr. Cipher reigns
His puzzle-box a maze of unseen chains
Concealed within the folds of hidden thought
His enigma binds the realms that Time has wrought

Mr. Aeon, keeper of infinite time
Unraveling threads of the sublime
In esoteric aeons he silently weaves
A tapestry of dreams that eternally cleaves

Mr. Eclipses a herald of stark array
Casting shadows that never betray
In the cryptic void where darkness abounds
He whispers secrets in unfathomable sounds

In Shadows deep
Mr. Critical dwells
Where truths untold in silence
swells
His piercing gaze sees beyond the veil
Unraveling mysteries that time does
assail

Maurice presents Misters, an exhibition of drawings that perpetuate the self-mythology of NY-based artist, Joshua Abelow. This group of drawings was installed in an abandoned office complex in Glen Arm, Maryland in the midst of a dramatic renovation of the space. Humorous archetypal figures and the artist’s own signature are effortlessly foregrounded in order to showcase the simultaneous seriousness and absurdity of the artist on full display in a constant state of flux, echoing the ever-changing qualities inherent to the building in which they reside.
